Job title ASM Fire Extinguisher Service Technician
Reports to ASM Field Line Manager & UK Service Manager
Job purpose
To survey, install, service, maintain and inspect as necessary, all portable fire extinguishers, fire safety signage, fire hose reels and wet/dry risers under contract with the company and to carry our room integrity testing
Duties and responsibilities
Carry out scheduled & reactive maintenance in a timely, efficient & cost effective manner.
Effectively communicate with our customers’ to ensure a good understanding of system/equipment status.
Carry out fire extinguisher site surveys and installations
Carry out room integrity testing.
Liaise & co-operate with service administrators to ensure the needs of our customers’ are met.
Be responsible for the management & security of vehicle stock, tools & equipment.
Operate within the requirements of company Quality Assurance & Health & Safety policies.
Approach all training positively & complete all duties in a workman like manner.
Be adaptable to changing circumstances & contribute feedback & ideas to help the business grow.
Assist as fire and security engineers with maintaining systems when required
Any other duties requested by your line manager.

Skills and Experience
• To have experience in the servicing and maintaining of portable fire extinguishers, hose reels, wet/dry risers and other associated equipment to the applicable British and European Standards and knowledge also of all relevant BAFE/NSI codes of practice.
• To be conversant with the products installed and with any significant limitations inherent in such products
• To have the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
• To have the ability to fault find and resolve issues in a logical manner.
• To have good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and complete service call-out documentation.
• To have the ability to work creatively and innovatively dealing with core issues with customers.
• To have the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers and outside bodies.
• To be able to display initiative and to have strong attention to detail.
• To be highly result orientated with a strong drive to deliver/succeed.
• To have good organisational and time management skills.

Working conditions
Working in GBE Converge office locations as well as client and construction sites around the UK. Work can be in and outside locations.
